Why us

What went wrong
last time.

Beyond The Brush is a locally owned and operated company. Sunny owns it, has been in the local painting trade for over 20 years, and is on the job himself rather than behind a desk. Commercial work has a different problem to solve: the space still has to earn while we are in it.

“We cannot afford to close for a week.”

You do not have to. Most of our commercial work happens evenings, weekends and overnight, and we section the job so your doors stay open.

“Last crew left it unusable every morning.”

We clean up nightly. The space is presentable before you open, every day of the job.

“Getting a straight answer took three phone calls.”

One point of contact for the whole job, and a written schedule. If something moves, you hear it from us first.

“My property manager needs proof of insurance.”

$2,000,000 liability insurance, certificate provided before we start.

Our standard

What we do
on every job.

Commercial work has a different problem to solve. The painting is the easy part; keeping your building running while it happens is the job.

Commercial Painting: our standard of work

Backed in writing

  1. We work your hours, not ours. Evenings, weekends and overnight where the space needs it.
  2. One point of contact for the whole job. You deal with Sunny, not a rotating list of names.
  3. Occupied areas stay usable. We section the work so tenants, staff and customers keep using the space.
  4. Signage, fixtures and equipment are covered and put back. Exactly where they were, before the space reopens.
  5. Low odour products in occupied spaces. Wherever the specification allows for them.
  6. Daily cleanup, not end-of-job cleanup. The space is presentable every morning whether we are finished or not.
  7. Written scope before we start. So there are no change-order surprises halfway through.
  8. $2,000,000 liability insurance. We are insured to work on your building, and you get that in writing with the scope.

If we miss any of it, tell us and we come back. Every job carries a written 5-year warranty and we are insured to $2,000,000.

Process

How a commercial
job runs.

  1. 01

    Site walk and scope

We walk the space with you or your property manager and note access, hours and constraints.

  2. 02

    Written scope and dates

You get the scope, the sequence and the dates in writing before anything starts.

  3. 03

    Setup outside your hours

Protection goes down once the space is clear for the evening.

  4. 04

    Paint it in sections

So the parts of the building you need stay open and usable.

  5. 05

    Cleanup every night

Everything is put back and the space is presentable before the next business day.

  6. 06

    Walkthrough and sign-off

We walk the finished work with you and hand over the written 5-year warranty.
